During the course of the year we often get people asking if they can come and look around the mill. Due to the our busy working environment, considerations of Health and Safety and of course Food Hygiene Regulations this is rarely possible. However, over the past few years we have been having an annual Open Day, encouraging those interested to come and see the mill in action. Paul Merry, our resident artisan baker and teacher, also opens the door at Panary enticing visitors with the smell of bread baking in the wood fired oven.
This year Windy Miller, winner of our village’s scarecrow competition, sat at the end of the drive attracting some lively attention from the passing traffic! Our Open Day was held on Sunday 15th May coinciding with the ‘Shaftesbury Food Festival’ and ‘National Mills’ weekend so there was much going on in our corner of north Dorset.
We have not set the date for next year’s Open Day yet, it will be held again around the middle of May so please keep an eye out for an announcement on our News Page nearer the time.
