Mill Open Day 2023

Posted by Oliver Stoate on

We are happy to announce that we will be opening the mill up once again to the public on Saturday 13th May (10am - 4pm) to give people a chance to see the running of a modern water mill. The millers will be working and able to answer questions. Master baker Paul Merry will be in Panary, come along and learn breadmaking techniques and discuss his popular courses - from beginner to the more advanced. The wood fired oven will be inaction giving off the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread. For baking tips from the master himself there is no better time.

We will be selling our flour and sweet and savoury treats to enjoy with a cuppa. All profits from the event will be going to Cure Parkinson's, last year we raised £460 and hope to continue building the event.

The Mill Open Day 2022 was a great success catching us off guard with the number of cars. This year we plan to be more on the ball and will be creating a bigger parking area so nobody misses out. You are welcome to bring your dogs but please keep them on a lead, they will not be able to enter the mill itself but can be in the mill yard. There are no ramps into the mill building or Panary, please bear this mind. The easiest entrance is up 4 stone steps with a hand rail.

We hope to see you in May!

****UPDATE****

Thank you to everyone who showed up, the weather was great to us and we were happy to see so many people showing an interest in what we do. The parking seemed to work much better other than the field being a bit sticky so a few cards did need a bit of a push out! We hope to make the event a bit bigger each year and already have plans going forward into next year thanks to the feedback we received on the day.

We are happy to announce we managed to raise £500 for Cure Parkinson's which we were so happy with and would like to thank Kelly from the charity who organised us some goodies and a collection tin for the day.
